  • YF servers blocking some IP ranges
  • We have started to blackhole IP ranges on our servers that are known to participate in P2P file sharing in a destructive or investigative manner. Connections to these addresses will simply time out. Believe us, you don't want to connect to these.

    Some of them are even hosted with the same providers as our servers -- they have therefore potential to seriously impact our servers and your connections. We've been lucky so far that they are stupid systems.

    The list is not very long and maintained in a conservative way. It is mostly there to protect our servers -- yes, they are being used for DDoS.

    Please understand that we won't answer most questions regarding this list. But your feedback is nevertheless welcome.


    Oh, and not every server not reachable is blocked by us. Please use your common sense before smelling conspiracy. :-)
